Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In a significant development, the police at Indus police station in Bankura successfully seized two cars that were loaded with explosives.
The incident unfolded when the police arrested and thoroughly searched two vehicles in the Bandherpar area, while en route from Patrai to Indus. During the search, a bag containing a considerable number of bombs was discovered, prompting the immediate arrest of eight individuals, including the drivers of both cars.
According to reliable police sources, they received intelligence reports the previous night regarding an imminent attempt to transport explosives concealed in a vehicle to Indus with the intention of causing chaos and confusion during the nomination process. In response to this credible information, all the check-posts and police personnel at the Indus police station were promptly put on high alert.
At approximately 7:30 am today, the police intercepted and searched two vehicles that were returning from Indus to Patrai. During the search operation, a bag containing a significant quantity of twine bombs was discovered inside one of the cars. Acting swiftly, the police immediately seized both vehicles and transported them to the Indus police station for further investigation.
The authorities have arrested all eight occupants of the two cars, considering their involvement in the transportation of the explosive devices. The police firmly believe that the purpose behind bringing the bombs was to disrupt and create turmoil during the ongoing nomination process.
